Ignition Tumbler?
So I just replaced the ignition switch on my 97 Blazer. After I did this it started just fine, but then it wouldn’t start anymore. If i take the little black ignition switch box off and turn it with a screwdriver it starts right up just fine. Could this be a problem with the ignition tumbler? I’m wondering if it’s just not turning the switch enough to start it.
Just gonna leave this here in case anyone has the same problem. It did end up being the ignition cylinder. You can pop it out with a pick and test it by sticking something in the part of the steering column where the cylinder goes and turning it. I used the closed end of a combination wrench but you could also use a large flat blade screwdriver or something like that. If the car starts just fine every time, the issue is likely the ignition cylinder.
