Information Center Message question..
Ok..
This should be easy.. Since I have no owners manual for the 2000 Jimmy (SLE) I can't seem to find information as to WTH this means..
I Know when it is 32* or below the word 'ICE' shows up..
But today my wife called me 100 miles from the house and told me her msg center told her it said 'CAL'
Is it calibrating or needing calibration?.. I thought it did it by it self at start and movement..
Anyway.. That was the only thing I thought it could be..
Anyone know what CAL means?
Thanks
btw.. the closest I could come to an answer w/ was The Blazer Forum.. lol.. A search here didn't show anyone else asking this question either..

I'm 90% sure that means calibration. When it says that, you have to slowly turn the vehicle in circles 3X or something, I believe.
Here is a spot to download an owners manual BTW: (thanks to someone who linked it on this site... although I don't remember whom it was)
GM Owners Center - GM
Sign up, enter your vehicle information and you can get the manuals and such.

Yes it is. I went to the link TY! & it says:
The compass is self-calibrating, so it does not need to be
manually set. However, when your vehicle is new, the
compass may function erratically. If it does, CAL
(Calibration) will appear on the display. To correct the
problem, drive in a complete 360 degree circle three
times, and the compass will function normally.
So yours isn't new, maybe some voltage spike or something caused it to reset itself, but that is the right remedy.
Lol when I 1st read his reply I thought it sounded like "do the hokey pokey & turn yourself around, that's what it's all about"
