Question Multiple electril problems, are they related?

Hello, I bought my Blazer a couple yearsago, and have had a ton of problems with it, one after another, but has been agreat “learning” car, doing research online and figuring out how to fixthings. I am in Japan, so it is a righthand model and some parts are just impossible to find, even from junkyards. Here are a few recent problemsand I am really striking out and wonder if they could be related or even if thecar was water damaged (purchased after tsunami) and also typhoons can be quitepowerful.

1. First thing to pop up was the backlights on thedash stopped working along with the “dinger” when the lights are left on. I tried to figure it out, couldn’t. Here is what I am down to. The fuse in the IP box is showing no power oneither side of the fuse, but when I probe the wires on the back, there is powerwhen the lights are switched on. Must bea fuse box problem. But when I bypassthe fuse, and just jump the input/output wiring, I get the dash lights, but thedimmer has to impact and still no dinging. By the way, we do not have theautomatic headlights, there is a switch on the turn signal lever, with a dimmeron the dash with the dome over-ride.

2. I noticed the fob was only workingintermittent. Did not seem to be thefobs, but on the receiving size, I can press 10 times before it decides tounlock, doesn’t matter the distance.

3. Next, the power folding mirrors stopped havingenough power to completely close. Notsure if the American models have this. Atoggle switch by the driver’s side window that opens and closes themirrors.

4. Wiper delay wouldn’t work, just went to eitherlow or high in the middle of using. So,it would be on delay, then just decide to be on high.

5. Just a couple weeks ago, the cruise controlstopped working while driving down the highway. No reason, checked fuses, and all were good. The next day it worked again for about 10minutes, then same thing, could not get it to turn on again. Confirmed it was not related to the brakesensor (brake lights did not turn on).

6. Just yesterday the airbag light turned on/offseveral times while driving to/from several places.

This is in addition to electrical and mechanical problemsthat I have already fixed and the outstanding mechanical issues (4wd doesn’tfully disengage right away, horrible gas mileage, random vibration at idlerelated to humidity or rain, and hard engagement into gear from park).

When I first bought the car, there was this horriblemulti-screen navigation system in addition to an aftermarket in dash radio/MDDisk system that was not operational. Iripped it all out and tried to clean up the wiring behind the dash, but it wasworse than any wiring job I have been before.

Any help connecting these together would be appreciated, declaring the vehicle not work fixing or tackling these individually would begreatly appreciated!

its a faulty ground you need to clean your connectors and poke around under the hood i had the same problem but worse if not buy fuses and a tester and go over both pannels

Sorry for the delay, been in/out of the hospital due to a bad bug that I caught!

I ordered and received an Innova 3160D scanner to help with my airbag light. Here are the codes that came through when the airbag light goes off:

SRS Current Codes
P0018Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation - Bank 2 Sensor A
P001AA Camshaft Profile Control Circuit/Open Bank 1
P001FA Camshaft Profile Control Circuit High Bank 2
P0022Intake Camshaft Position Timing - Over-Retarded (Bank 2)
P0029Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 2)
P002DB Camshaft Profile Control Circuit/Open Bank 2
P002EB Camshaft Profile Control Circuit Low Bank 2
P003DA Camshaft Profile Control Stuck On Bank 1
SRS Past Codes
P0015Exhaust Camshaft Position Timing - Over-Retarded (Bank 1)
P0016Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation - Bank 1 Sensor A
P0019Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation - Bank 2 Sensor B
P0020Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 2)
P002EB Camshaft Profile Control Circuit Low Bank 2
No check engine light. Also, while idle, the ignition advance is not at zero, it is at around 18-20. I don't know the whole history of the vehicle, and the workmanship here and be quite interesting (car has a shut-off valve for hot water going to the HVAC system since the blend door actuator was broken, I already fixed this).

Update on this, will start to tackle these as unrelated problems, and if they seem to point back to the same direction, I will troubleshoot as related. Without easy access to a good OBD2 reader to get accurate data on the airbag, I will check for obvious problems with the two sensors up front.

As for the timing, after doing more research on here (with the correct search terms) I found that what I am showing is normal.

Also, found the dimmer switch to be bad, and when bypassed everything on the dash/dinger work fine.

Will update when I have more information.
