Default No dims or daylight running light

Hi. I am new to the forum so I will thank anyone ahead of time for any help I can get. I have a 2000 Blazer LS 4x4. Was told by the person I bought it from that it has the ZR2 package. I just assumed that it does as I am not sure how to verify that. It's also my first Blazer and for the most part we love it. Anyway, it's got around 170,000 miles and has a few issues that i am trying to resolve. The main reason that I am posting on this thread is that my dims and daylight running lights have stopped working. I have tested the fuses all good. Have replaced the bulbs. I replaced the multifunction switch but still nothing so I took it back out and put the old one back in as it was almost a 200 dollar part. Shortly after that they started working again. But since have stopped. When they did start working they would only come on when i shifted into gear but not when in park. When they stopped working the second time I messed with the turned the light switch that controls the dash light on and off a few times and they came on but that was the last time they worked. Any ideas?

The day time lights may have been disabled by the previous owner as there were a few folks that didn't like them. Not sure why your dims aren't working. As for why the lights may not be coming on until you put it in gear, the auto function for the head lights may also have been disabled.

Check the relays for the lights. Also, with the re-installation of the switch having the lights work, could there be a short to ground one or more of the wires in the ones that goes to the switch?
