Hey George!! Hope all is well. So I didn't find any issue with wires etc. Ran a fused wire toggle like you posted from the relay. New thing happened with the headlights..... I applied the brake and put it in D and they came on for a brief 10 seconds and went off. This was at night before I could even hit the toggle switch to activate. Any idea if something connected to the steering column or brake pedal could cause for them to come on.

So you did the jumper wire and toggle switch hack to get your headlights working and this has been working OK? Does anything else go wonky besides the headlights when you press on the brakes? Does it also have to be moved into D as well as the brakes or either will make the headlights come on?

offhand, three possibilities come to mind. A power wiring short in a harness, a bad ground, or a bad BCM. List everything that acts wonky.

Yes that has been working just fine. No other things go wonky. I tried all other gears and lights did not come back on. Last night at dusk I went over some bumps and the headlights briefly came on.

You must have a corroded wire harness somewhere, most likely in/under the dash. Look for any white or green powder or bulging harness indicating corroded wires. Start at the brake switch going up and the headlight switch heading into the dash. Have you ever had a door or windshield leak?

I forgot to suggest watching the headlights while moving those wring harnesses around to see if anything happens.

If there is no corrosion/wiring short then I see three possibilities:

A ground problem
The multifunction switch
The BCM

Have you had any problems with either of these three?

I was thinking possibly a ground. Where would be best to start?
multifunction switch I replaced
BCM I'm not sure. I would think other problems would be happening and not just the headlights, but I could be wrong.
