On the '98's, there are two yellow wires to the left low beam and one on the right (driver side for RHD). The ground wires run together in the underhood fuse/relay center. Grounding the yellow wire on the right side should accomplish the same purpose as grounding the appropriate yellow wire on the left side. This will result in your low beams being on whenever the headlamp relay is energized instead of switching off when the HI beams are selected by clicking the multifunction switch on the steering column.

Did you cut the wires prior to grounding them? All that should be necessary is exposing the wires by removing the insulation & soldering the new ground wire in. That part is very important.

THIS POST has the schematic applicable to your '98.

i just did the quadbeam mod on my 98 blazer. i started by grounding the yellow wire with NO black line on the rad support. it worked but my low beams were always on and AHL didnt work.

so i installed a relay with a switch on the yellow ground wire so that i can active the quadbeam only when i want to at night.

I just spliced through the insulation,no cutting were involved,it worked the first time but the lhs low beam was very vague, then it blew a fuse, after replacing it no power came through on both yellow wires on the lhs low beam almost like the current is broken.is there maybe another fuse/relay i need to look at.i'm dumbstruck.

You're going to have to start testing continuity on wires using the schematic in the link I provided above. Sounds like you shorted out a wire and have potentially melted something in the process.
