PCM not grounding

PCM not grounding
ok i have a little issue, more of an inconvenience rather than an issue actually.
long story short my SES light does not work. after testing the cluster, the wiring, and EVERYTHING in that circuit ive come to the conclusion that my PCM is not grounding that circuit ( its a always hot, ground controlled circuit). now i was able to splice into the ground side of this circuit right at the cluster and can turn the light on with a toggle switch, funny how i passed smog by using a switch.
My questions are:
1) has anyone ever ran into this before?
2) where is the best place to get a new PCM or get this one fixed (possibly tuned?)
3) if i were to get one from the junk yard, what needs to be modified/relearned in the PCM to make it use able and how would i go about doing so?
also im afraid that my PCM might not receive data from other system, i ran an EGR test with an OBDII scanner, turned it up to 100% and motor didn't die out like it should. since then i have taken out my EGR and cleaned it but am yet to retest. just a thought.
Any input would be great!=]

There are a lot of other GMC/Chevy products with that PCM. Try a pick n pull & look for anything of similiar year & with a 4.3L.
Take down the serial # or code for that PCM & start looking.
There was also a recent posting for a PCM ground pin, maybe try searching for that, it may be of help.
