Remote Cassette Cable routing and freeing
Just wanted to share what I learned today when I had the dash panels off on my 1999 Blazer.
Since I was in there, I thought I'd find out what the remote cassette player cable was jammed or hung up on. I had found it really hard to get it into the backside of the OEM CD/Radio because I could not pull it up enough to plug it in.
Well, long story short, I found that it was purposely bound to a point on the metal support frame for the dash at a point a few inches up and to he left of the ash-tray. All this time I had thought it was stuck on something.
I was able to free it so that it is easier to connect and service along with everything else. Of course, it was obviously done that original way for a reason. I'm guessing the reason was that it was somehow easier to make all the connections during the origin assembly.
