Hello everyone, I have searched through the forums on this site and cant seem to find my answer so I figured I would make a post. If I do it incorrectly please forgive me for my ignorance, this is not something I do often. I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer that I picked up for a project. The gentlemen who owned it before me took the motor out for a 86 Tacoma build he was doing. He cut things out and kind of made a mess of it, so I have been slowly putting it back together. I'm close to the finish line but ran into a problem I cant shake. I have some sort of ground issue on my starter relay, and I was hoping to get some advice. I have included the schematic I was using to try and find my problem, the 2 black/350 ground wire coming out my starter relay that is supposed to ground. It runs to my AC compressor plug (on the car) and has a clip on diode attached. There was a cut just before the diode, I joined the two back together to see if I could get the starter to engage and nothing happened. I pulled them apart and just touched the ground to the block and the starter would turn. I figured my problem was the ac compressor connector/diode. I replaced them both and still have the same problem. So I'm wondering if the wire is supposed to be grounded before going to the diode. Or maybe there something else I should have done and didn't do. Any help or tips would be very much appreciated
