Just got back from the car wash. Not a drop in the passenger side. Hard to tell on the driver's side. It is so fogged up with UV it is hard to tell. I will run it through again in a couple of days. I will let you know. I may go ahead and do the silixone seal on the side marker lamp on the pass. side even though it hasn't leaked. It is a preventative measure.
I should do a 3M clear lens treastment as seen on Youtube on both sides to make them clearer.

Since I last posted, I have gone through the car wash twice and we have had several afternoon and night T' storms and there is definitely condensation inside both composite Headlight assemblies. It is forming in the appearance of droplets on the inside of the bulb lens. I don't know whether the car wash or the rain caused it. Doesn't matter, water is getting in both H/L assemblies.
I have the clear silicone in the tube. Is there a way to run a bead of silicone around the outside edge of the assembly where the lens and the back meet without taking them apart.? Do I just remove the chrome trim ring and that allows me to get to that seam for caulking ?
If I decide to go with a new stock composite assembly, what on line parts store has the best quality at the most reasonable price: Rock Auto, A1 Auto, Amazon, or other? Thanks for your help, Jim

Yes you could just remove the chrome trim ring and run a bead around the mating area. There's some metal clips around the perimeter that also help hold the lens to the back half, but I wouldn't bother popping them off, just silicone over and around them while they're in place.

Honestly any of them. They're all made in China or Taiwan, from what I've seen quality seems to be about the same between them all. The aftermarkets will never last 15+ years like the original ones, but eh, what can you do...

Thanks for the quick reply, Blazen ! I am afraid to try to pop off the chrome trim. I afraid I will break it and my primary transportation will be lost until I can get a new one shipped to me! I am going to buy a pair of new H/L assy's from 1A Auto---all prices are with Free shipping. I am buying from 1A because they have helped me in the past with their video library, not because they have the best price. Here are the prices for a pair of head lights with free shipping for my 2003 --- $74.95 Now if you want the two headlights plus the two parking lights/ without the fog lights/ the price would be $94.95. 1A Auto also has a complete front end assy with a black grille, 2 headlights, and 2 amber parking lights. So if you had a front end collision, this would be a good package to consider.
My amber parking lights are in good shape, so I am ordering the two head light assy's only. I will save the old H/L assy in case of a break or other mishap. I will be able to go to the auto. car wash and endure the summer rain without condensation. By the way, be careful of the 2 plastic retaining clips for each head light. They are available at your local Advance Auto Parts store for $7.99 for two.!
Blazen Red, thank you for all the info and DIY advice and excellent photo's. The clear photo's are very helpful to me. I do appreciate it. Jim in hot and rainy South Carolina.

I just ordered the 1A Auto two h/l and they will be here on 8-17 Total $80.20 with shipping. Plus 2 retaining clips from Advance Auto Parts. at $8.00~ here Friday. Next Monday, I will be ready for a trip to the GM Proving Grounds aka the automated car wash. Another plus is the headlights will be much brighter because my old ones were yellow from UV.

Good deal!

Yeah you would be surprised at just how much light gets blocked from faded and yellowed lights.

I took my old 98 Saturn headlights out a while back, brought them into work, wet sanded and buffed them, and it was a night and day difference (no pun intended) in both just the looks of them and the light output.

Even did the same with it's fog lights lol

I ordered two stock composite H/L assemblies on 8-13 and got them on 8-17-2020. They are from 1A Auto in Kansas to SC in four days ! They are made in Taiwan and going under the brand TRQ/Trusted Reliable Quality/ and Eagle Eyes. How can you get any more American sounding than Eagle Eyes ? Here are some questions I had answered in case you had the same concerns.
Q. Were the H/L assy complete with the adjusters or would I have to remove the back off my original units and transfer them to the new unit. A. They are complete and ready to install. Q. Do they come with new high and low head light bulbs----p.n. 9006 and p.n. 9005? . A. Yes, they come already installed and ready to bolt on the SUV. However No parking light bulb p.n. 194 . Q. Were the H/L assy's packed well and unbroken? A. Yes, packed with cardboard inserts and cushioned with foam so no breakage. I was really impressed with the 1A Auto parts and quick shipping and my trust in them has paid off so far. Like I said earlier, it was due to the 1A Auto's excellent installation video library that 1A has free. I had just bought a two pkg of high beams and two pkg of low beams from Sylvania Silverstar for a total of $94.00 before tax. I paid 1A Auto only $80.20 with tax and free shipping. So if I had known the 1A deal was complete with the H/L bulbs , I would have saved about $14.00. IOW I paid $14.00 more for just the four Sylvania Silverstar bulbs that the total package from 1A Auto.! Those on a tight budget, please note. Now the Silverstar bulbs may be brighter, but I will give these new 1A bulbs a chance. I now have some Silverstar spares on hand.

Here's the 1A Auto video on how to replace the headlights or just the bulbs on a 1998-2005 Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy.

Awesome, that's a descent score. I've used a few 1a auto videos for figuring out certain replacements.

I am amazed at how much brighter my Headlights are with the new stock style H/L assy.s. These have the original vertical stripes or ridges in the glass. They look like stock style, so if that is important to you, this is the way to go. I have put up my Sylvania Silverstar's 9005/9006 for spares. I have run the Balzer through the automated car wash with no water seeping into the body of the headlight assy. I did have to buy a set of HFT/ E Torx sockets to adjust the new H/L .$10.00 for 9 deep sockkets. I did as the 1A Auto vid suggested and set the new adjusters at the same setting at the old original that I took off. I do need to go through the proper adjustment for the H/L. That is one of my pet peeves: Out of alignment headlights blinding the on coming traffic.
