Switching from COMPOSITE to SEALED BEAM help.

I see a lot of posts of people switching from sealed to composite, but can’t find any the other way. IN the middle of a “restoration project with my daughter, combining a 95 s-10’s (2.2 manual, 2wd regular cab) sheet metal and frame, and combing that with the same model from a 00 s10 (utilizing all the mechanical, wiring, drivetrain, dash, interior, etc. of the 00) Boy have there been a lot of differences! But we are wrapping it up now, and we decided to keep the 95 sealed beam headlamp front end (just looks better to us) . I cannot get the headlamps to work properly, just work on high beams on half power. High beam light is always on, and the headlamp relay gets very warm. Am I missing something? Is there a resistor or something that I need to by-pass? Any help would be appreciated! The 00 S-10 had composite headlamps with 9005 and 9006 bulbs.

So, understand that GM went back into the dark ages on this one, there is constant power running to BOTH the low and high beam, the grounds switch. Being that I am using sealed beam headlamps, I reversed the polarity. 2 hits (high and low twisted together) and the low beam ground for the low (hot) input then the high beam ground used as the high beam (hot) into the headlamp pigtail. Leave the DRL relay in, or only the rt side works.. Just hooked up the sealed beams, they are working like they should, however, probably will never be able to upgrade to LED’s. (Cannot reverse polarity on those). When I was trying to figure this out, the high beam indicator stayed on consistently with no lamps plugged in and the headlamp switch on. I hope this helps someone in the future..

My sealed beam led headlights I got from Amazon.
If you take all that you did with the headlight/driving light wiring and use them as signal wires for relays... Then you can upgrade to leds. The relays will keep your positive & negative from switching. And as a benefit, will supply direct battery power to any lights. I have a 96 sealed beam and plan on separating the drl lights from the highbeam headlights like I did on my 01.
on the 01 I used the high beam circuit from the passenger side to control the DRLs relay, and the driver's side high beam circuit to control the actual high beam relay. Just for good measure each of the 4 lights + drl leds had their own relay for a total of 5 plus I made it so all 4 lit up for high beams.
