As for the battery, 99 times out of 100 the culprit is the nut that holds the positive battery cable to the stud on the passenger fenderwell. It's usually loose or corroded. And it also could be the starter, I've had that style do the same thing to me before.
I'd also be willing to bet the cooling system has an air lock in it from the leak, the leak could be from the thermostat housing or the throttle body coolant line or gasket.

U cam get the strut nuts from the trunk. Its not a bad job at all. You will need spring compressors though.
The intake is also cake on the 3.1
And IMO the 3.1 is an excellent engine! Amd they sound great too.

yeah the intake gaskets are pretty simple to change, only thing to watch for is the push rods are 2 different lengths, and the older engines have adjustable rocker arms so be sure to count the turns, as far as cost goes depends on how much you pay for a gasket set.
