Default nice story (Fernando's Cafe)

There is a little sub shop in downtown Pittsburgh a few doors down from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and The Westin hotel where Anthrocon is held every year. Well two years ago business started to slip with the economy going downhill and at this point last year, he was fearing he would have to close. This is THE hangout spot when the annual furry convention comes to Pittsburgh. He even goes as far as changing the name of the resteraunt to "Fur"nando's and sells t-shirts and collectable stuffed animals and stuff. At this point last year, Fernando was fearing he would have to close soon, and tried to stick it out just to get to one more convention. But he almost made it but his debt was too great and he made the painful decision he would have to close. But the convention staff wouldn't have it, and made sure he would be around this year. But the chairman of the convention put the word out to the entire fandom worldwide through livejournal, youtube, and other websites, and in 6 days time, collectively the furry fandom came together and raised a total of 21,000$ which was presented to Fernando this afternoon at a small convention/meet at his resteraunt which will ensure that he will be there this year, and possibly next year, and maybe even for years to come It is amazing how everyone came together, even people from other countries who have never even been to the united states. About 9 different countries took part and I myself donated 100$ to help. But here is the story and a youtube video shot at the resteraunt of the actual handing over of the check Just wanted to share this wonderful story, and if anyone ever has the chance to visit Pittsburgh for either a convention, a Steelers game, or a Pirates game...visit Fernando's Cafe and try a lasagna wrap (I hear they are the best :P)
