I used to go goose hunting, but that was usually only when the group of hunters from Canada would come down with their 500+ decoys. I never had the time to go out and place the decoys.

Yeah, no rifle around here because of the population & lack of terrain. Or at least that's what they say.

Isn't upstate NY all country? Looked like a ton of land last time I was up that way.

It's definitely not a metropolitan area, but it's not like houses are all miles apart either. The real problem is the terrain is flat enough that you could potentially hit someone's house with a misplaced rifle round. They have rifle season in the Adirondacks where both population density & terrain limit this possibility.
