You should get the Hobart without question. It will be well worth the $200. One thing you need to realize on flux core is that it throws a lot of slag which can get into your weld and weaken it. If the HF machine doesn't have the set up for shielding gas, I wouldn't even think twice about not getting it. Some things are fine for flux core, but there are many applications where you will want to use actual shielding gas. Then you will spend more money to get a different machine entirely. I myself "try" to make make high dollar purchases such as this on what I will need tomorrow, not what I need today.

good point. thinking/planning ahead will end up saving you $$$ in the long run and you'll be much happier with the purchase.
