Jet Boat Sprint Racing?
This is one insane sport!
The water version of Rally Racing. Pretty amazing stuff.
The 'passenger' is actually a navigator. He sits there and tells the captain what the course is like.
The boats appear to be exceptionally tough. Bounce it out of the water, and as long as there's no bent drive train or rudder, the plop them back in the water and off they go.
I've heard they pull upwards of 6 Gs in the corners.
I'd love to see these guys in person.

And what is racing without crashes...

I have seen this type of racing in person and it is wicked. Those things turn on a dime at speed!

I've never seen this before, but I just became a fan of it.
It is simply mind boggling to see something moving that fast move that fast. I had to check to make sure it wasn't in fast forward.
The human mind takes 1/10 of a second to react. Those turns are cutting it pretty close.

And just think for that much fun you have a Kiwi to thank William Hamilton invented the jet boat in 1954 to get up the shallow rivers in the south island

While this isn't jetboating it is pretty darn neat. I had never seen this before. I owned a jet boat several years ago and used to pull a tube with it, but nothing like this.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread just thought it was interesting.
