PC Builders
Hi Les,
Good to hear from you as well. 2023 has been a very busy year. Changed workplace with 3 months at school and training. Ever once an then had a look into the forum to keep up the MOD tasks a bit. Car builds all on hold at the moment with the Alfa Romeo being with the guy who does the interior. Blazer engine still at the machine shop. Only thing I did was the computer build and as a pure necessity to get rid of the old cases in my office space.
I'm running DEBIAN 12 now with KDE as GUI. Has a nice setup which is close to the classic windows with blue top bars for the active. Tinkered a bit with MINT.
I do pretty much the same with my computers. They have to hold up. Advantage of fixing that stuff for others is that once in a while I get my hands on "obsolete" hardware. I got 4 256 GB SSD's which came in handy. Two are still waiting to be built into my tower and replace the DEBIAN 11 on that machine. Easy to unplug the old OS HDD plug in a new one, set up the system and modify my /etc/fdisk file to mount the existing data HDD. (1TB HDD).
So let's keep up the tinkering
Cheers
Mark
