Default Ranger question

My dad has a 2004 ford ranger, it is 2wd; there is a plug that is coming out of the top of the differential, does this mean it has a locker or something?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

That would be a Rear Differential Speed Sensor; ABS SENSOR "REAR CENTER"
