Blazer Owner In Southern Tier NY
Hello all!
New forum member here; I have referenced this forum many times in the past for various issues and figured that it was time to join, learn and hopefully contribute to the community here.
Currently we (Wife and I) own a 2003 Blazer which serves as her daily driver. Once my 1997 Monte Carlo DD with 203,1xx dies, I will end up with it as she will get something else (most likely Nissan Xterra).
Right now the Blazer is experiencing a few issues, error code P0101 (Mass Air Flow Sensor) and it is not immediately disengaging when switching from 4Hi to 2Hi, it clunks out. After reading swartlkk's stickies on both subjects, I am narrowing down the culprits. I am looking to eventually get a lift kit for the Beast once it is my DD.
Thanks for letting me introduce myself and thanks for contributing and maintaining this forum!

Thanks! The Blazer makes frequent trips to North Jersey since the in-laws live near Morristown.
Here is something to chew on...P0101 was a result of a bad catalytic converter; since the cat was bad, the computer was not running the O2 sensor checks which threw the MAF sensor off. Had the cat replaced from the Y pipe to the muffler flange. Now, sometimes there is a clear odor of rotten eggs which I consider a sign of a cat going bad. Would a new cat smell like this? There are not any codes being thrown currently and without an OBDII reader analyzing everything, I can't tell if anything is wrong.
One thought I did have is if the fuel pump is going bad and not fully pressurizing; which would cause a higher flow of fuel at a lower pressure to be sent to the cylinders. This may not be fully combusted and then exhausted to the cat spoiling it...Any ideas?
