Checking in from Colorado
Hello Everyone,
Just picked up a 99 Blazer (2dr, 4x4) this week and thought I would join the forum to gain some knowledge. This is the 2nd blazer I have owned (first a 94) and I have also had 2 S-10 trucks.
I picked up this 99 for $2000. Only has 109,000 miles but it has a few issues. The oil cooler lines were leaking (fixed), the 4x4 wouldn't engage (fixed, was just the switch in the dash having some broken solder), A/C doesn't work, exhaust leak, and the front steering parts need to be replaced. All in all, not a bad running vehicle for 2 grand (especially with the low miles). It pulls hard to the right when going over 50mph and there is a lot of slop back and forth when turning the wheel. I am just going to replace it all.....tie rods, pitman/idler arms, ball joints, and sway bar bushings.
In the past, I have always cut up trucks, bagged them, and dropped them as low as I could. My last s-10 was bagged and bodied to lay out on 26's. However, now that I moved out to Colorado my plan is to jack this thing up and make it an offroad machine. Already making plans to SAS it but that will be a little ways down the road.
Anyways, I think I have rambled long enough. I will be using the search function quite a bit over the next few weeks
