Question what do I need to talk with my car? (ODB confusion)

hey guys, so I have a 1995 chevy blazer 4.3l v6. and recently I have done some repairs on it (fuel pump, spark plugs, and a bunch of other stuff). it has always had the check engine light on, and now I'm trying to read the code that it is throwing. but the thing is that they started ODB1 around 1982 and they started implementing ODB2 in 1995, under the hood, it says that it is ODB1 certified, but in the car I have an ODB2 port. I have a few ODB2 readers but they wont talk to it. I have seen a lot of YouTube videos that say I should jump two of the pins in the port, but I'm a little afraid of crossing the wrong ones and blowing something up (like I almost did to my PCM, earlier).

so if you guys have any advice, that would be very helpful.

thanks

The 95 is a bit tricky. It will all come down to the production month and VIN and especially the engine.
The 95 may have the new body (2nd gen) but still have an old engine in it. If possible check the engine type, injection type and have a look at the serials of the ECU (PCM) box itself. This should help identify the correct OBD type.

GM has also used the OBDII and older ALDL plug during a couple of months.

From there it should be possible to figure the software to connect.
