Ford rear ends
i got a 91 4x4, and im looking to upgrade the rear end. i have been looking at a couple different types of lockers, but i was also informed you could use a ford 8.8 with a LSD from an explorer and they are pretty much bullet proof. i know guys using those in their chevys running 10's with slicks... i mean if its strong enough for that, i would think a little 4.3 couldnt break it.
is anyone running these?
is anyone running these?
There is some people on pirate4x4.com, s10-4x4.org, s10forum.com and a few other forums that run the 8.8. They seem to be a good choice of axle. Search around, some of those forums are a little more hardcore then here and you will get flaming if your asking about anything under a d44 lol.
well... it is and it isnt lol. the 91 im putting this in has 308's and the ford rear end is 373. but i have 98 parts blazer lol (ya i know 3 blazers) and im using spindles from that, and its 373. im also going to be switching over the steering box, (got a quicker ratio) and the big *** front breaks. so my 91 blazer will have 94 explorer rear breaks, and 98 fronts hehe. but the fronts are WAY bigger as im sure most of you know the switch from 97-98 was big. ill take pics when i do it... if i remember lol
