MN wheelers? and various questions.
Hey, another MN guy here, Im actually goin on an off roading trip this Saturday the 31st. Im goin to Appleton, they have an ORV park down there, I went last year and it was a blast. I will post pics and tell the story when I get back. If anyone would like to join me pm me and we can work something out, if no one contacts me then look forward to my story/pics. Later guys.
I live in South Mpls. I don't do much off-roading with my '96 Blazer, but I did have it with me at Ft McCoy, WI last summer. Went puddle jumping and sucked some water into the engine. 6 new spark plugs, new air cleaner and it's as good as new!
Never gotten water in a vehicles engine. or maybe I have I just didnt know. But I have had many times getting water out of an ATV and snowmobiles. Sitting on a lake shore for 3 hours pumping the water out of the cylinder and draining the carb is not fun (Also alittle intoxicated on 4th of july weekend). New plug, and about 6 oil changes is was good as new (or so I thought). some where along the lines there was still moisture in the motor somewhere and ended up having to rebuild the motor. I learned a Arctic cat 400 cant swim around docks at the lake. It was a good thing I had experience with fixing that sort of thing from helping multiple buddies sinking there snowmobiles while water skipping.
Nice choice on the wheels!! Might I suggest looking into Monstaliner instead of the Herculiner. The reason I suggest it is because its UV protected and won't fade to grey like the Herculiner does. I have had it on for like 5 months now and even with rocks mud and trees hitting it frequently it still looks like the day I put it on. Just figured I would throw it out there since not alot of people have heard about it. I have a bunch of pics in my build thread during the application. Good luck on the build and thank you for your service to our country!!!
Hey man! East MN here. Never been off roading but just got the 30 x 9.5" BFGs and just also ordered rock crawler 52s! I have had the truck for 2 winters LOVE IT in the snow but id like to try off roading too. Thinking of 2.5" rough country lift and 31 x 10.5 next time around.. or maybe just when my ball joints go out ;p but anyways nice 2 door!
