k5 top-window removal
Need a "how to", on removable top, window removal/installation.
I promise I looked around before posting this, I always post a question, and then a week later find that the same question has been asked 15+ times already.(Sorry)
I am repainting my removable top, and I have absolutly no idea how to take out rear, non-sliding, windows, and I have less of an idea on how to re-install them. What kind of silicone or adhesive do I use? Any info at all is help, or just a link to a thread that has already gone over this.

If you can see a recessed rope like rubber rim on the gasket around the window, then that rim can be removed to allow the window to be removed much like the windshield gasket. If it is the older style gasket then you can do a lot more harm than good in attempting removal and really have to ask yourself if it is worth it or if masking would be a better option.
yeah i just masked mine. the problem i always run into is when you pull that plastic bead out of the rubber gasket thats been in there for 20 years it breaks into 10 pieces. not always but has happened. but if you still want to take it out, just pull off that little chrome 1 inch connector piece, pull out the plastic bead spray soappy water all around where the window seats in the rubber and work it out. helps if you have someone on the inside and outside so it doesnt fall out
