new idea for a blocky body
#1
so i am going to do a hood scoop but thats nothing compared to my bigger idea. Do note it is a long term item and i do realize the some of the issues and work that will be involved. This idea comes in two facets and i am here for ideas and opinions before i waste time and money.
I am working with a block body
1994 JMC Jimmy SLE
4 door 2wd 4.3L Vortec Auto Tranny
1) interior dash -
I would like to replace the stock dash with a stock cavalier dash and use the cavy gauges. The gauges are not to bad for me, and the dash will need some cutting and reforming to fit the area well, and i am good with fiberglass so i think i could pull it off. but would it be a lil odd for a smooth wavy dash in a block body. What you all think?
2) Tail Lights -
There are to many basic tail light replacements and they are all overused a bit for my taste. So here is my concept: to use a set of mustang cobra tails in the blazer.
I have figured a way for the tail gate to work properly and all but the visual is a bit hard to feel. attached is a pic i did quick in paint (so the quality sux) just to help my idea. the left pic is stock tails, the right is mustang tails put in - do note the ones i would use are the mustang tails with the net style covers on them. Let me know what you all think!

I like the idea, but I'm not really a fan of that style of tail lights.

i don't really like the tails either I think there are some better choices out there for custom tails

the reason i was going to use those tails were because i already have a set from my old mustang and they have all the wiring with them as well. i had also considered a set out of maybe a 98 Impala from a junkyard but do feel free to through in suggestions. That is why i posted - you all may have ideas i did not.

I think a 94-98 Mustang's tailights may look better..

that could be cool too, the only thing i was thinking is that i wanted to find some that flowed well with the body style. otherwise i would aim for some skyline, supra, or even RX-7 FD tails - i think they look awesome. After looking at them close up i can see that 98 impala tails and 93 mustang tails both flow well to the body lines. Thats why i was focusing on them. I want the end result to look as if the factory had put them in, not me - so a curvy bubbly tail would be out.
