Rear window squeak is driving me crazy

There are many ways to solve this. A lot of people swear by wrapping electrical tape or gorilla tape around the latch. Others have had luck lubing the hinges.
Others have also had luck adjusting the striker on the tailgate side to close the window tighter.
Others have used all 3 of those.
When I had my first gen all I had to do was lube the hinges and adjust the striker. Worked like a charm.

See the link on how I fixed my First Gen Rear Window rattle. The fix is still holding today.

what i did was i lined the window on the inside with gorilla tape. Just a single layer, and only as far in as needed to make sure all the points of contact with the rubber seal on the rear door make contact with the window. maybe 1.5-2" in from the edge of the window i think.
afterwards, i took it on some pretty bumpy "summer roads" in the area to see how it did, and now i don't get any squeaks. And i also see less fine dirt/dust covering stuff in the back of the truck as well.

Newbie here
Thanks for the thread! Electric tape not only fixed the squeak for me but the closing feels way more solid and secure. Looks like it will be a recurring fix as every time I shut it it seems to take a pretty good bite out of the tape but luckily electric tape is cheap and it beats losing your sanity.
