Removing E brake handle from lower dash?

Default Removing E brake handle from lower dash?

Anyone by chance know how to remove the ebrake handle from the lower dash piece? Trying to switch out my lower dash piece with a custom painted one I just got done with and cant seem to remove that damn handle..Appreciate the help...

If you havent you need to remove the end of the pull cable from the mechanism just behind it mounted near the kick panel..then you should be able to press it out of the panel.

if you look under the dash at the ebrake pedal, you will see where the cable attaches to it, if you push it to the back of the truck, it will release tension on the cable, so you can unhook it. (that is how it is on my first gen) I do not really see it being much different on your second since e-brakes all operate the same unless they are electronic.

Thanks for the info guys..it helped out alot.Didnt realise it was all one unit attached with the cable...Did discover however that the under dash piece from a 2000 S10 does fit but there is not a perfect match at the side seam wear it meets the drivers side of the dash.
Hopefully when I get the bezel back on it tightens up the look better..
