Default Shift ****

How do you remove the shift **** on M/T models? My GF bought me a shift **** and I want to put it on, I heard somehwere I'd have to cut it off? Is it glued on? And if it is are there threads on the top of the shifter under the ****?

Default RE: Shift ****

It was a major pain because I had no idea how it was connected, after trying to unthread it and rip it off for about an hour i took the hacksaw to it and found that there is a U-shaped pin holding it to the shaft.. if you take out the pin the head will slide off and you can slide the new one on. I don't know what the correct way to remove it is lol
