2000 Man. Trans. Shift **** Rattle Fix :)
So my Manual transmission on my 2000 ZR2 Blazer has a bad Sychro. Drives fine, but sometimes it throws my Shifter out in 1st gear only when accelerating from a stopped position. The problem was that it kicked it out so hard that it caused the nut and washer within the factory pressed shift **** to become loose and then caused an annoying rattle while driving.
Quick fix - Drilled 2 small holes in the sides of the shift ****, upward angle till it punched through. Just into the area where the loose nut is. NOT completely throught the shift ****. (2 holes ensure the epoxy fills entire space.) Used Locktite Epoxy Syringe and encapsulated the nut/washer within the ****. Hope this helps anybody with a similar situation.
