Default spare tire rack?

Could I put a spare tire rack from a 7r2 onto the back of my 2001 blazer?

You can but the blazers without the rack don't have the extra supports inside the body and often cause stress cracks in the panels.

true it could have stress damage, but it can be done. i have had mine on for 5 months and no problems at all. you just need to diy correctly and you should be fine. add reinforcing as needed. the blazers with the rack factory option dont have much in way of support in the first place. thats why i believe you see so many factory racks denting the rear quarters on the ride...that and accidents happen. i have mine tethered sort of with a locking cable that will keep it from swinging full out if i forget to secure the latch properly. in the end i would do it again.
