Need some advice to rebuild my 94 Chevy Blazer Vortec 4.3 liters

Hi everyone!

Two weeks ago, my wife try to start our 94 Blazer, and just nothing... simply the engine doesn´t start, only sounds the click at key action, like the battery was dead, the motor doesn´t turn.

I´ve start to tear down the motor in order ti find the problem (I expecting something simple) first of all, i found water, near a quarter, once drain the oil from the motor... maybe you figured out.. here is what finally i discover...

Please, from now i´ll need and very appreciate all advice to rebuil my engine, this is de first major reapair since i bought my truck in 1994 0 miles... today has 210, 003!!! and always runs good!!! I love this truck, I think this excelent machine deserves a new and long life... I expect 100k miles more!!!

Thanks in advance.

Cyl. #6...

With that kind of damage, you may want to look into a crate motor. Your block/heads may have been compromised.

Once I detached the #6 piston...
My truck is a 4wd, vin W... should I change all other 5 rods or is acceptable change just this dmaged connecting rod?

Hi, Swartlkk.
What kind of damage do you think block or head could have? I inspected the cylinder and no has scratches or dents, i´ll try to check alignment, no twist or bending condition of the heads... I turn manually the engine (properly lubricated) after I detached the piston #6 and i´ve not noticed any other obvious problem, What do you think if I change only this damaged part?

To bend a rod like that, you had to have hydrolocked the cylinder. If everything checks out as flat (you need to check them with a precision straight edge), then you may be ok, but you may want to have the heads and block magnafluxed (magnetic crack detection) to make sure there are no cracks.

Shure, I´ll do that as a first step.
In other issue, How can I check the proper function of the oil pump? I mean, now, that it removed, I don´t want to see low pressure when the engine is assembled, Thanks.

Oil pumps are routinely trplaced at overhaul. Just btrak down and get a new one. They're pretty cheap.
