Read the other threads!

Verdict is:

Buy the ebay intake.

Buy 10$ Sheetmetal chunk at HomeDepot and 2$ L brackets and some screws / Or a trashcan!

Buy a K&N Cone filter as soon as you can.

As kyle has stated in the past; the k&n heatshield is lacking. Homemade heatshield is the best bet.

Youll spend under a buck fifty on the above setup, as apposed to 300$.

This is all budget minded of course.

Everyone is always saying to search and thats all well and good but sometimes a search does not turn up exactly what your looking for. And how hard is it to make sheet metal into a heat shield.

An intake is a tube with an open filter. thats it, Nothing fancy. A $30 ebay intake with the right filter and a well built heat shield, will perform no different then a 300 K&N kit. Possibly better. The key is to keep the area the filter is as cool as possible (Cold air Intake). Like ugly monkey said buy an ebay kit, get a good filter and build your own heatshield. Will cost you less then half the price of the K&N kit.
