Ok, I have been looking a baskets for some time now. They all set on the rails and look dorky up that high. So I have started plans on making an aluminum one that will slide into the channel for the bows on the luggage rack. This way if I ever decide to sell my truck (only to get another Blazer) I can pull it out and put the bows back in. What y'all think? I will post the drawings up that I came up with this weekend.

 

That was pretty much my thinking when I wanted a roof basket. I decided that it would be too difficult to make brackets that fit inside the rails. Instead I made it so the basket fits inside the rails and has tabs that stick outside the basket and go on top of the rails. It put the basket closer to the roof. I can try to post pictures if you want

Hopefully you can see these well enough. I made the basket out of 1" electrical conduit and the uprights and center crossmembers are 1/2" conduit.
