Default '02 Xtreme ball joints help

Looking to change the front (upper & lower)ball joints on my '02 xtreme myself. My question is, do I need a ball joint press for any of the front ball joints? I've been searching on the forums here and can't come up with an answer, yet if anyone has a link to an earlier discussion on this, I'd appreciate the direction.

Only reason I ask is because I've seen/read video's/discussion on said topic and the issue has never really been clear. I'm having trouble finding front ball joint replacement info on RWD blazers. Would these presses be rent-able at parts stores, and are they cheap(ish)??

I'd appreciate any help and/or direction.

The top has four rivits that can be ground off and the bottom is pressed in. The bottom needs a special tool. I tookl the lower off and replaced the bushings and ball joint in a press

Yea I've seen it. For some reason I kept thinking a 2wd would be totally different and didn't want to accept I would need that tool. I got some good confidence in taking on this project from all the material i've found.

Thanks

Yeah its not that bad, just take the whole arm off and do the bushings at the same time. Gonna save you tons of time with the arm loose to put in a vice or something that the awkward angle of changing the BJ on the truck.

Awesome, thanks guys! Can't wait to try my hand at this and the plugs and wires.

Having this blazer has been teaching me so much about cars.
