Default 1999 Blazer 2WD leaking differential oil from wheel

I replaced the brakes but have differential fluid leaking. Do I have to remove the wheel, rotor, caliper etc and can I get to the bearing and seal that way or do I have to go through the differential? Thanks,

Push the axle in a little and use a magnet.

Yes. The brakes have to be removed to slide the axle out. Make sure the instructional videos you're watching are for a GM 10-bolt differential. Also look at pictures of normal and excessive bearing wear patterns on the axle. If your axle shows too much wear, your new seal won't last.

have you removed the center shaft - if not it has to be removed before axle will slide in - shaft is held in by one bolt in the carrier
