I need to replace rear axle assembly on son's 1999 Chevy Blazer 4x4 (Base trim) GU6. Will a rear axle assembly GU6 from 1999 Chevy Blazer 4x4 LS or Limited trim work? I have looked at several photo for rear axle assemble listed for 1998 to 2003 Blazers GU6 and all of then show different mounting brackets setups welded on the rear axle housing that look nothing like the one we just removed.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Same rpo gear code and 4x4 is what your looking for, also if you find one with a g80, that helps.

 

Can you post pics of the different mounts you mentioned? Just remembered you wrote that.

 

I don't know if it will help you, but here's a picture of the rear axle I took out of my 2000 LT.

 

Looks the same as my 99, so if it looks like that, then your good.

I got all the information I was looking for. Found a rear axle assembly from a 2000 Chevy Blazer LS 4X4 (GU6) with 113K. The one we removed from vehicle has 256K.
