2001 Blazer - 4wd switch problem

Default 2001 Blazer - 4wd switch problem

Having a problem with my 4 button 4wd dash switch. I haven't found a post with a similar issue, so I'll have to ask for help.

Occasionally, as I'm driving (in 2 HI), I'll notice that the LED in the 4 LO button will be blinking. If I press the 2 HI button enough times, the 4 LO light will stop blinking. Usually this situation reoccurs several times before it will stop altogether. Other than the 4 LO button doing this, the 4WD works fine.

Any suggestion? I'm hoping it is just a dash switch problem!

There are a few threads out there on the phantom engagement. It is usually caused by corrosion at the TCCM located behind the passenger side kick panel. If you are lucky, a simple cleaning of the connection terminals in both the TCCM (male pins) and the connector (female receptacles).
