Crud, I guess that thing goes to the actuator then, I really have no clue where it would go.

it's been awhile since i messed with a 1st gen 4x4..................but the wires (i think i remember they were 4-flat wires in white? or were the grey ones that went up top?) are for the lighting on the console cover.

you know the one that lights up if you're in 2WD, 4HI or 4 LO.

personally, i wouldn't worry about t though. i had my truck apart many times and it only worked once for a short bit. never worked when i bought it (and it was only 4 years old) and it started & stopped working all on it's own.

There are two wires coming from the display, they are both flat and white, and one contains 4 wires, and the other contains 5. The 5 wire goes down and connects to a position sensor on the shifter lever. In the donor car at the junkyard, the 4 wire just went behind the dash to an unknown location. And with the new manual shifter in, what tells the vacuum actuator to engage? Also, where does the 3-prong vacuum line that's on top of the t-case go?

The three vacuum lines that go to/from the t-case are: 1- is a vent line, 1-Supply line to the engine, and I'm not sure what the other 1 is for. When you shift the manual case, the vacuum goes to the actuator tell it to contract or release.

The "4x4 no worky thread" on here explains this process better than I just did, maybe go look at it.

Well, that thread didn't tell me where that wire goes. Does it just go to the TCCM? All I need to know it where that wire goes, and the donor car has developed a bees nest. I cannot get in there. If anybody could pull up a wiring diagram for the manual 4WD system, or trace that wire, it would be much appreciated.

That's all I need is that wire for a complete manual 4WD conversion.
