4WD vacuum solenoid problem
#12
My 99 Blazer (4 button option) was exhibiting the same symptoms (flashing indicator lights) when switching to any 4wd option and want to share my recent testing.
I had already replaced all vacuum lines, lubed the cable to engage the front axle and had test it by hand last fall, all seemed to work fine then,
4wd recently stopped working, so after researching here on the forum, I found this thread and decided to test out the solenoid.
I bypassed it and all 4wd options started working again. So, I tested solendoid connector for 12v and ground as suggested above and those tested OK, so
I took out the solenoid cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner, tapped the solenoid a few times on the workbench and re-installed it. It works again
This solenoid may not have a lot of life left but I'll use it for now. I found that dorman makes a replacement (600-104).
