Default 4x4 problem - help!

I recently bought a 1994 s10 blazer tahoe 4x4..

everythign works good... except one thing..

when i start it up, and push the 4x4 button, the green light goes on and the 4x4 works.. then i will drive for a while, look down, and notice the little green 4x4 light on the dash has turned off, and the 4x4 is off.. if i try turning it on again the button doesnt ligth up and the 4x4 will not engage. But if i wait a while (this happened on 3 seperate trips) and start it up in a day or whenever, the 4x4 will go on, but eventually turn off again.

Why is it doing this? it seems to be good for the first 15 minutes of every trip and that is it.. Need some advice. O, btw, 4x4 works awesome when it is engaged. i LOVE IT

And... Regardless of whether your symptoms match identically to those of the OP, that thread runs through the diagnostics steps. Step #1 - read the codes.

It is quite possible that your TCCM is overheating for whatever reason or that you have corrosion on a connection that is affecting things. Is it a definite 10 minutes every time?
