Default 8.5" width question

Looking on eBay for a 2wd 8.5" S10 rear axle with 54.5 wheel mating surface...I see the following "fitment" description:

BLAZER S10/JIMMY S15 03-05 4x2, 8-1/2" ring gear, w/ZR2 opt
BLAZER S10/JIMMY S15 03-05 4x4, w/ZR2 opt
BLAZER S10/JIMMY S15 98-02 4x4, w/ZR2 opt (3.73 ratio GT4)

I was told the 54.5" unit is only in the 2WD vehicles, but the fitment chart from one auction indicates the axle up for auction fits both 4X2 and 4X4...does this make sense?

Here is the link:

Thanks...

I'm sure technically it wasn't made for the 54.5" but it would technically work. But maby someone can chime in that knows a bit more about this.

ZR2 axles are wider than standard 4x4 axles by 4" (2" per side). The 4x2 ZR2 (yes they made them) had the same rear axle as the 4x4 ZR2.
