Converting 4wd to 2wd
I’m having issues with the CV joint that is coming off the transfer case. Clicking really loud. The question that I have if I just remove the CV joint axle and front U-joint would I damage the front diff doing that. Right at this moment I don’t have the money to repair it.

The answer is no you will not damage anything by removing the front drive shaft but you may push all of the trans fluid out of the front of your tcase without the shaft installed in there and then yes you would likely destroy your tcase. As chevy said above me just replace the ujoint they are cheap and easy to replace. Just look up how to replace them because it requires the use of heat to melt out the plastic that holds the caps in place from the factory. Its not hard I have done more than I can count using a simple little propane torch from HomeDepot, it just takes a few minutes to heat them and get the plastic flowing then they will tap right out without much issue. The new ones go back in with standard C-clips.

This will save some money or you could try finding a new/used shaft at a junk yard if you have one somewhat close to you. And now that I have thought about it you should be just fine to remove the front shaft and not worry about loosing fluid I forgot the tcase side was the male side on these therefore the output seal is on the splined shaft coming out of the case rather than on the yoke like the rear shaft.
