Default Correct 99 ZR2 torsion bar orientation

I have a 99 ZR2 blazer that has been a garage project for about six years now, lol. I have finally got the the front suspension and I am trying to put it all back together now.
since it has been so long I remember very little of the orientation of the torsion bars when they were removed.
My question is: #1 does it matter which way they go in, is there a front or back to the torsion bars? #2 Is there a left side and right side? I noticed that on the very end of the bars there is a stamp with the letter L on one bar and the letter R on the other one. Both also have a stamped arrow on them which seems to indicate which way they rotate?
Im totally clueless here on this part, any advice, information, or help in any way would be much appreciated.

1. There is a flare on one end of the torsion bar. That end goes towards the rear, and keeps the torsion bar from sliding through the torsion keys. 2. Yes, there is a left and right, and you are correct that the L & R stamps designate which is which.

Thank you so much for the info. I was going to find one in a parking lot somewhere and quickly crawl underneath and take a peak, but I really didn't want to be a creeper like that. Lol

I like that idea of "creeping" under somebody elses car... LOL

Since the advent of mobile phones with good cameras and the selfie-stick the operation has been simplified a bit.
