Default Frustration after replacing Leaf Spring

First off, I want to thank everyone that helped me figure out how to take the spring off and put the new one on. Super thanks!

Now to the frustration. I originally did this because my drivers side rear was 3" lower than my passengers side. I took it to a mechanic that said it was the leaf spring. I decided to save the labor cost and do it myself. Well, I've replaced the "Bad" spring with a good one...and after all that work, the drivers side is STILL 3" lower..."ARGHHHH"

I don't get it. What else could it be? I can't figure it out. Does the shackle go bad? It appears to be at a similar angle as the one on the passengers side. Plus, I don't think I could move it since the leaf is connected to it.

I'm starting to think there was nothing wrong with the leaf spring I had on there although my truck does have 147k miles on it....and it was used to haul heavy stuff.

What should I be looking at?

What is the measurement from the axle to the frame side to side?

What did the replacement spring come out of?

The replacement came out of a 2005 2 door blazer with 14k miles on it. I'm not really sure about the measurement your asking. I'm trying to picture what you're asking. From the axle to the frame?

Take a tape measure and measure from the top side of the axle to the bottom side of the frame.

And you are driving what? # of doors? What are your suspension RPO codes? Were both vehicles the same drivetrain configuration (2wd or 4wd)?

well, some good news. I got it out on the driveway today ( I did the repair in my back yard...on grass). I checked and filled the air on all four tires and now the height in the back is off by less than 1/8 of an inch. I guess I can live with that. On the front end, the passenger side is about 1/2 higher than the driver side so that is probably where that 1/8 comes from.

Again, thank you everyone
