Default hit a bump, get a pop

Yet another problem for my blazer-driving friend.

anytime he drives over a bump, he gets a loud popping/thump/clicking noise that sounds like its coming from under his feet.

My first thought was CV joints, but as far as I know, that's only detectable when you're turning - which he said he gets when he turns right (he's testing it out after work, and is going to let me know if he gets any clicking/popping noises when he turns hard left or right)

any ideas? I just did some reading here and it looks like it could be ball joints / u joints.... any input on this?

check out the torsion bar / torsion bar mounts, mine is doing the same thing and I have traced it back to this.

turns out it was front shock mounts, and rear brakes. Apparently the brake drums in the read had big gouges out of 'em. Nasty. $1200 (CAD) bill later, all is good!

I have a bad popping on bumps as well in my front right...

I figured it's a shock that's got some internal problems and needs replacing, and just haven't been able to afford fixing that since it started about 10,000 miles ago. But a shock mount? Interesting...

I would have almost figured that was a ball joint problem, a shock mount seems weird. But whatever its fixed now, thats all that matters.

That's what i thought but I had my ball joints checked for tension and functionality and they were great...
