The brake shields have arrived, but from what I hear one problem is that they are not protected from rust. I have some Rustoleum laying around, should I spray these with it? Not sure what the Rustoleum is rated as far as heat and what not. And would painting them void any warranties from AC Delco?

You need to hammer it off with a chizzle or air chizzle. Start at the side of one of the bolt holes. Hammering to get it spinning. Might take a bit but you will see a gap start.

Make sure you aren't swinging at any other vital parts.

Just finished the hub assemblies. Drivers side took only an hour compared to the passenger side that took a week of hunting for tools and waiting on parts. Thanks for the help.

One last question.

When taking the passenger side apart there was a silver ring on the CV kinda just sitting there (looked like a giant washer), we left it alone thinking nothing of it. On the driver's side this metal ring was missing, we again thought nothing of it and replaced the hub assembly and took her out for a test drive. Does this ring do anything cause the hum seemed to be gone but the abs light came back on!

Should I get a new ring (and if so what is it called), and do I need to pay someone to clear the abs code?
