I consulted "4x4 no worky", but have some other questions
Quite new owner of -00 blazer in Finland. Im kinda worried of the 4x switch controller. i have tested once 4HI. worked but my control buttons doesnt light to inform what is in use. Its very radom when they illuminate. sometimes turning the key they all switch on ( so they can illuminate.) Mainly when i drive the 2HI does not illuminate.
So maybe a cosmetic problem but i like everything to work like it should be? or should them even light always when running ( lights on of course, interior light max volume )

The 4 button's one.
Today i did a test when starting for the first time today. The lights were on, indicatin 2HI, i pressed 4HI and it switched, tried 4LO but it was just blinking. i pressed 2HI again and all lights went dark on the 4WD switch. went to drive and it felt 2HI because easy slide on gravel road.
i think when going for 4LO does the car need to move slowly so the parts move little bit and go in place.

Maybe something below will help. An indicator light should either be lit or flashing in a button at all times. If I remember correctly all buttons flash when key is first turned on. TCCM controls the indicator lights in the buttons.
Lots of the control buttons are replaced but few are bad. Quite often 4WD problems are caused by corrosion on the TCCM connectors or a bad encoder motor. 4WD is quite difficult to definitively diagnose without a capable scanner, but super-easy when you have a capable scanner.
