If I go with the posi-lok or DIY cable set up that will eliminate the vacuum actuator under the battery, would that mean the system no longer needs vacuum to operate the tccm since it's manual. So even if tccm is bad the 4wd will still go into gear since your pulling the cable?

If the TCCM is bad i dont think it will go into four wheel drive asuming you are a 3 button four wheel drive. It will just lock in the front axle. Wont do anything with the transfercase.

The TCCM shifts the transfer case and has nothing to do with the front axle. The PosiLock just replaces the actuator that engages the passenger side axle. You will not need vacuum going to the TCCM once you install the PosiLock.

I didn't realize it just for the front thought it engaged from the transfercase thanx for the info that's why this site is awesome

Let me clarify just a bit. When the TCCM engages the transfer case, you are now getting power out of the front drive shaft which then powers the front axle.

The acuator, or the posiloc, only engages the front passenger side axle. The two are indepentent of each other but work in conjunction with each other.

Make sense...lol?

kng254, DO THE POSI LOCK SWAP!! i did it to mine and it works amazingly. but with the vacumm line that plugs into the actuator need to be plugged or you'll eventuall break something if you go muddin. (i mean if water or something goes in the line). as far as the t-case, leave the electronic stuff alone.
