Hey Tom, thanks for the Skyjacker link. I went ahead and emailed them since I didn't have time to trawl through their catalogue.

A note on ProComp : I didn't contact them because I read on several sites that their shocks aren't that great, about on par with Rough Country. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I'm trying to get something premium that will last awhile.

Don, as for leaf springs, I found this page while I had a break from work the other night : https://www.generalspringkc.com/Leaf...005_s/1838.htm

Haha... not offended in any way. I kind of feel the same about Pro-Comp, though I am running their shocks on the rear of my rig (I have Skyjackers on the front).

I've purchased from General Spring a couple of times, and recommended them a bunch of times. They're a good company, and their prices are reasonable, too.

Thats awesome info, thanks.

I found a guy locally that makes them from scratch, really good prices too. I have to get a set replaced on the wifes old sonoma. Did amazing work and was a good price.

Tom,

Do you think Z2 shocks would work on a regular Blazer with a lift? If so, that might make things 1000 times easier.

Actually looking at that site you sent, the pick up truck are a little longer.

and as weird as it is, the 4x4 ones have a higher lbs rating(1400lbs compared to the 1100lbs for zr2 blazers). And are cheaper.

I'm going to talk to the guy I went to last time, and see what he suggests. I want to eliminate the add a leaf I have in there and have him make me a whole new custom set.

edit: it says the zr2 blazer and regular blazers use the same leaf pack. So I'd say it's just a mounting adjustment for those on the zr2.

I picked up a set of front shock absorbers specifically for a zr2 blazer, and they are shorter then the rough country ones... by about 2-3"

not sure about the rears

I needed to beef up the rear springs on my truck to carry my camper, so I just bought a set of new ones for the same application (Ford ) from General Spring that had a higher load rating. I didn't look to see if there are multiple choices for Blazers, though.

That seems weird since my lift puts me at about stock ZR2 height and they're like 2 inches higher than stock LS height.

Yea I thought about that, but the mounting location is different on the zr2s. The rough country shock absorbers measure around 21" extended, and the zr2 are 18".

got the absorbers sitting at home doing nothing, debating on what I'm gonna do with them...

I wonder if Rancho RS9000XLs would work then, since they're 26" extended. I've read Rancho is a good brand too.
