Passenger Tie Rod Install
This is the passenger Tie Rod on my 1990 K5. I need to know if anyone out there knows EXACTLY how many rotations it's supposed to be installed at. Mine was removed and then reinstalled without the correct number of rotations.
So, if anyone knows of the top of their head or would be so kind as to count the threads on the UNTURNED portion so that I know I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I'm a bit confuse as to what you mean by rotations, and more specifically as to what part. The outer tie rod doesn't require "rotations" other than the castle nut. That is determined by the torque requirement. The sleeve that connects the inner and outer tie rods is determined by distance that is set by an alignment. That being said, get an alignment sooner rather than later. Anytime you mess with the tie rods, get an alignment unless you like wandering around on the road and eating up your tires.

If you are referring to the number of times the outer tie rod should be turned as it is screwed into the adjustment sleave, I'd start with doing it enough times so that the same number of threads are exposed on the tie rod end as on the inner tie rod end. This assumes the adjustment sleave has not been changed.
I'd then check to to see if the number of threads exposed in the one you just installed is close to the number of threads exposed on the other side.
Finally, do a quick eye-ball check to make sure that the wheel is pointing as expected.
Then get it to a shop for an alignment.
